Everett Known Since: 1986 Resides In: San Diego, CA In actuality, I'd known Everett a little longer--at least known of him. He and I went to the same high school, and he was a grade behind me. But we never really met, per se. He had moved to San Diego for a while, but suddenly moved back to Sacramento halfway through my senior year. It was New Year's Eve, 1986, when he and some other people ended up stopping by my house post-party. We really met that night. The next night day he dropped back by, and we just started hanging out for that whole holiday break before school started. By the time we started back at school, we were the best of friends. And part of the group of friends that sort of developed over the last half of that year. Let's just say we did a lot of crazy stuff that year. My memories of my senior year are mostly of me, Everett, Wayne, Rich and all the guys, being out all night, going to midnight movies, partying at Everett's house, playing Gauntlet at the bowling alley arcade at 3:00 a.m., getting into trouble. I think the height of our high school party experience was spring break, when we rented a house in Mission Beach and just got crazy for a week (I remember some it, I think...). Everett and I got along so well, I suspect, because we were both thinkers. We talked about all kinds of stuff about the world and life. I remember one night the summer after my senior year, us just sitting by the pool in my back yard--with our friend (and Ev's girlfriend at the time) Sara sleeping on lawn chair next to us--just talking about God knows what about the universe or South Africa or astral projection, whatever. Suddenly, the sun was up. We just talked the whole night away without even realizing it. We'd just do stuff like that a lot. That is, when he and Wayne and I weren't sitting around his place watching Transformers instead... Everett and I went through a lot of strange stuff together in our day, but we managed to make it through. He's always been a great friend. Everett's now living back in San Diego, working in the medical field. And he's lucky I don't have any pictures of him back when he had the mohawk... Random Me and Everett Memory: Picking up on those El Camino High girls at Denny's that time and going to the midnight movies at Arden. Remember Kimo, dude? Yikes!
